Fall is my favorite time of the year! The cool, crisp air, the beautiful fall colors, and of course a delicious pumpkin spice latte. Whats not to love! It's also the perfect time to host a get-together or party with family and friends. In this post I am sharing some of my favorite fall party decor ideas to help inspire your event.
One thing I love about fall decor is the cozy feeling. Warm light, pumpkins, jewel toned colors, and more really make the perfect backdrop for a party.
The entry to the party, the party table, lighting, and more, I am including several ideas for you to run with and make your gathering one people won't forget.
Fall party decoration ideas
There are so many ways to add festive fall flair to your party. A few favorites include:
- Cozy pillows used at your seating areas like couches, table chairs, and even on hay bales.
- Hand painted rustic signs with fall themes or on a buffet table.
- Fall scented candles burning in the party area for a beautiful glow and smell.
- Cute banners and bunting in fall colors or with fall sayings.
- Chalkboard signs used for an apple cider bar or on a buffet table.
Fall entry
Set the tone of your fall party with a beautiful entry. I love adding a fall wreath to my front door. You could elevate the look even more with a garland hanging around the door.
Supplies:
Wheat bundles add another layer of texture to the entryway. I like putting mine in a large, rustic vase or pot. You could also use corn stalks for a harvest feel.
Pumpkins and gourds
It's not a fall party without beautiful pumpkins and gourds. They can be used in so many different ways. One of my favorite things to do is use them as a table centerpiece. They add color and the perfect fall touch. Try using different sizes and colors for a festive look.
Using a hollowed out large pumpkin is a creative way to use as a drink holder or even for dips. Carefully cut a pumpkin in half and remove all of the seeds.
Pumpkins also make wonderful flower vases. Choose a pumpkin and carefully remove the stem and cut a hole in the pumpkin. Add your favorite flowers to display at your party.
Leaf garland
Autumn leaves can be used in a variety of places like in a garland or on your party table. The beautiful leaf colors add the perfect touch of fall.
Crates
Try stacking wooden crates to display drinks and food.

Fall photo background
If you want to create a beautiful photo opportunity create a harvest themed backdrop. Include things like pumpkins, hay bales, and leaves.
Supplies:
Fall balloons
I always love to incorporate balloons if the event has a celebratory theme like a baby shower, birthday, and more. Use fall colors like burgundy, maroon, orange, gold, and yellow.
Supplies:
Try using different size balloons and clusters for a rich, full feel.
Fall party table setting
If you are hosting a sit down dinner party incorporating fall into the table can be simple. Add touches of color and patterns with plates, napkins, tablecloths, and glasses.
Supplies:
Use a mini pumpkin for a place card holder. You can tape a card to the pumpkin or set it underneath the pumpkin.
Supplies:
Using different materials and patterns is a great way to incorporate the fall theme. Plaid, burlap, and wool could be used as tablecloths, table runner, napkins, and more.
Fall party table centerpiece ideas
A beautiful centerpiece can really take your party table to the next level. It can be something simple or something over the top.
Lanterns with candles is a beautiful way to add light to your table.
Candy corns and candy pumpkins in a vase is a fun, whimsical idea for a centerpiece.
Fall party lighting ideas
For the ultimate cozy autumn feel I like to use soft, warm lighting in the party space. Fairy lights and candles are perfect to get this effect.
Try adding fairy lights around mason jars or vases as a table centerpiece.
Use a variety of candles for a beautiful glow. ***Tip, don't over use scented candles because the smell could be overwhelming. Instead, use 1-2 of the same scent candle and the rest unscented.
