There are all kinds of ways to add some Halloween spirit to your front entry. Here are some of my favorites.
Favorite Halloween Front Porch Ideas
Witches Potion
Set up a small table with a witches cauldron filled with dry ice for a fog effect. You can surround it with potion bottles, spell books, and a witch’s hat for a fun, magical touch.
Supplies
Halloween Entry
Frame your front door with a mix of black, orange, and purple tulle or gauze. I like adding some orange lights, skulls, or even creepy signs like "Enter if you dare."
Supplies
Elegant Halloween Porch
Bring a little bit of glamour to your porch with dark velvet pillows, black ravens, and black feathers.
Supplies
Skeleton Greeters
Place a life-sized skeleton or two on your porch chairs or bench, dressed in costumes like a witch, pirate, or ghost, to welcome your visitors.
Supplies
Paper Bats
Bats are the perfect way to incorporate spooky season on your porch. You can hang paper bats with fishing line from the ceiling, tape them to the front door, or even make large bats with trash bags.
Supplies
Candy Cauldron
Use a large black cauldron as a candy holder on your porch. Fill it with candy for your trick-or-treaters.
Supplies
Hanging Ghosts
Use lightweight fabric and styrofoam balls to create simple hanging ghosts. Suspend them from the porch ceiling so they float eerily in the breeze.
Supplies
White And Gold Entry
Add some cozy elegance to your porch with a leaf garland and orange and white jack-o-lanterns.
Supplies
Pumpkin Arch
Use an inflatable arch or make your own pumpkin arch to wow your neighbors and friends. You can place the arch around your door or in the entry way.
Supplies
Creepy Gravestones
You can create a mini graveyard scene with foam gravestones, eerie lighting, and scattered bones around your front porch area. Try adding some fog for an extra chilling atmosphere.
Supplies
Lighted Lanterns
Place black or orange lanterns with flickering LED candles inside along the porch steps or railings. Add some faux cobwebs for a ghostly vibe.
Halloween Tree
Decorate a black tree with Halloween ornaments for a festive porch. I like draping it with black cobwebs for something extra. You could even top the tree with a witches hat.
Supplies
Witches Broom Parking
Create a witches broom parking area that is sure to impress all of the trick-or-treaters. You can decorate with brooms leaned up against a railing or wall. Add in some witch hats, cauldrons, even some frogs.
Supplies
Zombie Hands
Place fake zombie hands emerging from the ground around your porch steps or in flower pots, as if they’re clawing their way out of the earth.
Supplies
Create a cozy Halloween porch by adding pillows and a cozy blanket to your porch swing. Use your favorite Halloween pillows and blankets. You could even place a skeleton in the swing.
Supplies
Decorate your porch with giant faux spiders and stretch cobwebs across the railings, windows, and door. Add a large spider on the door for a creepy centerpiece.
Supplies
Blow Molds
Add a touch of nostalgia with Halloween glow molds. You can place them on your porch or in the yard.
Pumpkin Pathway
Line your front porch walkway with carved or painted pumpkins in various spooky or funny designs, lit from within by LED lights to guide trick-or-treaters to your door.
