- 1 box red velvet cake mix
- 1 egg
- ⅓ cup unsalted butter, melted
- ¾ cup milk
Frosting
- ½ cup premade vanilla frosting like prepackaged Betty Crocker frosting in a container
- colored sprinkles
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
Spray a donut pan with non-stick cooking spray.
In a large bowl, mix together cake mix, butter, egg, and milk until combined. Be sure not to overmix or they will become tough.
Fill the donut pan ⅔ full with batter. You can use a spoon or put the batter in a piping bag and pipe the batter into each donut pan.
Bake for 12-14 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
Carefully remove the donuts from the pan when finished baking. Let them cool on a wire rack.
Place the frosting in a microwave safe bowl. Melt for 20-30 seconds or until it becomes liquidy.
Once the donuts have cooled, dip the top half of the donut into the frosting and then place back on the cooling rack. Top with sprinkles.
