How to make Skittles ice cream
Step one: Place a loaf pan in the freezer to chill. Set a few Skittles aside for garnish and divide the remaining Skittles by color into 5 small ziploc bags and use a rolling pin to crush each bag of Skittles. Add the crushed Skittles to 5 separate small bowls to keep the colors separated.
Step two: Make the ice cream base. In a large bowl, use an electric mixer to beat the cold heavy cream until stiff peaks form. Gently stir in the condensed milk to the cream mixture until combined.
Step three: Divide the mixture between the 5 bowls with the crushed Skittles. Add gel food coloring to each bowl to match the color of Skittles until you achieve the desired shade. If you do not have gel food dye, you’ll need a larger amount of regular food coloring to reach your desired color.
Step four: Remove the loaf pan from the freezer and add the colored ice cream mixture into the pan. You can separate the colors into the pan by either creating stripes or spooning in a couple tablespoons of color at a time. Garnish the top of the ice cream with a few leftover Skittles. Cover the pan with plastic wrap and freeze for at least 6 hours.
